Teasels is not the only interesting shop at the Bakers Arms (junction of Hoe St E17, Lea Bridge Rd and High Rd E10).

And across the road “My Size” (currently branded Sun City, but soon to get a new fascia), for the not-so-young and slender - sizes 10 - 28 at reasonable prices

Just down the High Road PDSA Charity Shop, a well-run shop with an excellent selection of books at very sharp prices, even for a charity, among its bargains

Also on the High Road Marijak Pharmacy & Newsagent - a friendly efficient service, with passport photos, watch battery replacement and bargain perfumes

Nearby, Diamond Cut Carpets, with a good selection of floor coverings at reasonable prices, pleasantly sold

Down the Leyton Green end of the High Road Sweet Choice - ice creams, smoothies, paninis & samosas. Yum!!

For fantastic fresh fish and sea-food, and also products from their own smokehouse go to Davies on Hoe St

Classic Dry Cleaners on the Lea Bridge Rd offers a knowledgeable  and friendly service, and extremely reasonable clothes repairs and alterations

Pictorem Gallery on Hoe St sells prints & pictures, including a good selection of framed local photos; even better, they are excellent framers, and particularly understand the needs of needle-workers

Woo Lot is a Chinese eat-in and take-away with no pretensions, but delicious food; better-tasting and more adventurous than most, with a strong offering of sea-food and fresh vegetables
